Angela Bain helps women over 50 who have suffered multiple losses. With over 35 years of experience as a Fitness Trainer and Yoga Instructor and 5 years as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, she specializes in the connection between the emotional and the physical. Using movement as medicine, she helps clients release unprocessed grief and chronic depression that often will manifest as physical disease. From navigating life's hurdles and loss of any kind, Angela coaches clients to move through grief, body pain, brain fog and poor sleep so they can reclaim their health and their lives. Angela lives in beautiful Calgary, Alberta, Canada with her two dogs.
As a 16 year old, single mother who had to leave a physically abusive relationship, I suffered from anxiety and depression. I was prescribed antidepressants, which made me feel like a walking zombie. In March of 2019, my life changed forever. My son was in a terrible accident . He fell into a coma and I sat at his bedside helplessly. He passed away leaving his wife who he had married not even a year earlier and his 9 month old son.Within the next 6 months my world turned upside down. My Mom passed away. I was in a horrific motorcycle crash. I had 2 dogs with cancer that had to be euthanized. Covid hit and I lost 90% of my business. My fiance at the time was not very supportive of everything I was going through. I had to sever the relationship; asking him to leave. It took 4 months to finally get him out of my home. I felt broken physically, mentally and emotionally. I honestly did not know how I could go on living. I suffered from body aches, panic attacks, little to no sleep, heart palpitations, brain fog and debilitating grief.
I tried grief counseling, which felt like “ picking a scab” for an hour once a week. I tried drinking to numb the pain and maybe get some sleep. I tried prescription sleeping pills and tripled the nightly dose. My health got worse, because my body was in “fight or flight “ mode for way too long. I started passing out regularly. My doctor ordered tests and found nothing wrong.
I had to pull all my tools and knowledge together and fend for myself. I had a young grandson to stick around for. I did regular self hypnosis, breathwork, meditation to calm my nervous system. Once my body had healed enough to move again, I started slowly incorporating gentle yoga and light weight training. I used Biofeedback to heal my concussion. Most importantly , I closely monitored my perception and belief systems. I journaled and kept a gratitude practice daily.
I am now living my best life ! I am strong and healthy. I have built my business back up and it’s thriving. I have a passion and purpose to help others who are challenged with navigating grief, body pain, brain fog, poor sleep, no energy and I can help reclaim your health and find your way back to a balanced, vibrant life!
